Cardano advances scalability roadmap and governance milestones
Cardano is undergoing significant technical and structural developments. The Leios roadmap aims to enhance scalability, with ‘Linear Leios’ planned for the fourth quarter of 2026 and ‘Ouroboros Peras’ following in the second quarter of 2027. These updates target increased data throughput and a settlement duration of approximately two minutes.
On the governance front, the network faces a deadline of September 1 to fill four seats on the Constitutional Committee to avoid a governance freeze. Meanwhile, institutional interest is rising, evidenced by T. Rowe Price including ADA in its Active Crypto ETF. Additionally, a partnership with the UNDP for the SDG Blockchain Accelerator is set for 2026.
Market activity shows over 32,800 daily transactions, with DeFi volume increasing by 6.05 percent to $58.01 million. Despite these developments, analysts note that reaching a $10 price target would require a massive increase in market capitalization, potentially reaching between $366.9 billion and $450 billion depending on circulating versus maximum supply.
