Cardano deploys Hydra 2.4.1 security upgrade

Cardano is implementing the Hydra 2.4.1 upgrade to address a critical security vulnerability. The update fixes a bug in confirmed snapshots that previously allowed invalid transactions to be included, which could have enabled malicious actors to steal funds by exploiting state update inconsistencies.

Alongside this security patch, the network is seeing technical developments such as the Leios testnet, which reportedly achieved speeds six times faster than the mainnet. However, these advancements contrast with declining network usage metrics, including a drop in active addresses and a decrease in the total value of locked ADA to below 300 million.

Financially, the ADA token has been trading in a tight range near $0.208. While the stablecoin supply on the network has reached a record $68.2 million, broader market pressures, including outflows from Bitcoin ETFs, continue to impact the altcoin sector.
