Charles Hoskinson predicts Midnight blockchain will outgrow Zcash

Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Input Output Global and Cardano, has predicted that Midnight, a privacy-focused blockchain being developed as a Cardano partner chain, will eventually outgrow Zcash.

Hoskinson highlighted several technological advantages intended to differentiate Midnight from established privacy networks. These include selective disclosure capabilities, private agents, and a decentralized finance (DeFi) kernel designed to support major blockchains. The network’s technology stack is expected to combine zero-knowledge proofs (ZK), trusted execution environments (TEEs), and multi-party computation (MPC).

While the prediction has drawn attention to the native NIGHT token, market data shows that Midnight remains significantly smaller than Zcash. The term “bigger” used by Hoskinson remains undefined, leaving it unclear whether he refers to market capitalization, network activity, or user numbers. Recent market movements show the NIGHT token and Zcash often moving in similar directions.
