Cardano (ADA) plunges to multi‑year lows, drops out of top‑15 and faces confidence crisis

Cardano’s native token ADA has fallen to a new cycle low, trading under $0.20 – a decline of more than 94% from its all‑time peak and the lowest level since 2021. The price drop has pushed the cryptocurrency out of the top‑15 by market capitalization, placing it 16th with a market value of about $5.43 billion.

Derivatives data show short positions now account for roughly three‑quarters of total ADA exposure, indicating a strong bearish sentiment among traders. Trading volume remains elevated, but most of the activity is linked to downside bets rather than new buying interest.

The price slump coincides with broader ecosystem challenges: the shutdown of projects such as TapTools, a recent fix for an Ogmios fork bug, and warnings from founder Charles Hoskinson about a potential wave of dApp failures. Community frustration has grown, with investors questioning developer activity, user adoption and the overall growth narrative of the platform.
