Cardano's Charles Hoskinson pledges leadership during governance overhaul
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson reiterated his commitment to steer the blockchain as it moves toward a broader on‑chain governance model. He argued that his long‑term involvement—"the guy who’s been here since day one"—still matters to the majority of users, developers and stakeholders. Hoskinson said unity should come from process, not centralisation, and warned that internal divisions could hinder the network’s progress.
He outlined several reforms: shifting governance discussions to a moderated Discord channel, revising the Cardano constitution to define executive responsibilities, and possibly becoming a DRep to vote on funding proposals directly. Critics fear the Discord move could limit decentralisation, but Hoskinson frames it as an accountability measure. The remarks come amid recent disputes over treasury allocations and the failed funding of the 2026 Cardano Summit, highlighting growing tensions within the ecosystem.
