Cardarelli Hospital autopsy clears doctors in Francesca Tucci death case
An autopsy report regarding the death of 24-year-old Francesca Tucci at Cardarelli Hospital in Naples has reportedly excluded professional responsibility on the part of the medical staff.
According to a note from lawyer Gabriele Di Criscio, representing the director of general surgery Felice Pirozzi, technical consultants found the preoperative management, surgical indications, and the execution of the intervention to be correct. The report also stated that the postoperative management of the complications that necessitated a second surgery was performed promptly and correctly.
The investigation, overseen by the Naples Prosecutor's Office and prosecutor Mario Canale, follows the death of Tucci on July 3, after she underwent a procedure at the hospital under the 'intramoenia' regime. While Pirozzi and two other members of his team were initially placed under investigation, the expert findings suggest there were no diagnostic or therapeutic errors, omissions, or general professional faults.
