Cardi B and Kehlani won the Best Hip-Hop award at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards for their collaboration “Safe.” The ceremony, hosted by Snoop Dogg, took place in Los Angeles on September 27.
Cardi B’s win for “Safe” beat out nominees including Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, and Tyler, The Creator. This marks Cardi B’s fifth VMA win, following her 2019 award for “Money.” The track is featured on her 2025 album, “Am I the Drama?,” which has been certified three times platinum.
Following the success of her recent 35-show tour, which grossed over $70 million, Cardi B announced she is currently working on a new album expected to be released next year.
