Cardiff Airport ranks among UK’s best as passenger numbers rise
Cardiff Airport has been named a ‘Which? Recommended Provider’ after ranking fifth out of 27 UK airports assessed in a recent customer experience survey. The airport achieved a customer score of 77%, receiving five-star ratings for cleanliness, security queues, and passport control queues.
The recognition follows a period of rapid expansion. The Civil Aviation Authority has identified Cardiff as the UK’s second fastest-growing airport. Passenger numbers increased by 24% in the first quarter of 2026 and 16% in the second quarter compared to the previous year, with over one million passengers traveling through the airport in the last 12 months.
To bolster international connectivity, WestJet recently launched a direct service between Cardiff and Toronto. Additionally, the airport has been shortlisted for a 2026 Routes World Award in the Under 5 Million Passengers category for its work in route development.
