Cardiff and Belfast City airports earn top UK accessibility ratings

Cardiff Airport was named among 19 UK airports rated ‘Very Good’ in the 2025/26 Airport Accessibility Report published by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The regulator highlighted a 115.8% rise in assistance‑service requests since 2015 and noted overall passenger satisfaction at 88%, with a slightly lower 82% for passengers with accessibility needs. Anna Bowles, head of consumer protection at the CAA, said the progress in improving airport accessibility over the last decade is encouraging.

Belfast City Airport also received a ‘Very Good’ rating, marking the ninth consecutive year it has achieved the highest accolade in the CAA’s Airport Accessibility Performance Report. The airport introduced ‘Lived Experience’ training with Queen’s University Belfast, expanded Blue Badge parking, and runs an ‘Autism in the Air’ programme for children with autism. Terminal and Security Operations Manager Philip Boyle and CCS Airport Services station manager Nikki Stewart praised the collaborative effort and ongoing investment in inclusive services.
