Cardiff City hosts Watford in Championship relegation battle

Cardiff City and Watford are set to face each other in a crucial EFL Championship match at the Cardiff City Stadium. Both teams are currently struggling near the bottom of the table, separated by only one point in the standings.

Cardiff City enters the fixture following a 2-1 defeat against Blackburn Rovers. Despite a recent win against Charlton Athletic, the Bluebirds have secured only seven points from nine matches. They are currently sitting 21st in the league, just above the relegation zone on goal difference.

Watford, positioned 20th, is also seeking a turnaround after a heavy 4-0 loss to Burnley. The Hornets have struggled defensively, failing to record a clean sheet recently, and have not won an away match in ten consecutive outings. Historically, Cardiff City holds an advantage in this fixture, remaining unbeaten in their last five meetings against Watford.
