Cardiff Council develops £60m Willows High school

Cardiff Council is set to open the new Willows High, a state-of-the-art secondary school valued at approximately £60 million. The project, which began in 2021, involved the acquisition of the former Splott Market site and subsequent land acquisitions for infrastructure and footpaths.

The new facility will replace the existing Willows High School and provide places for 900 pupils. It will also include a Specialist Resource Base (SRB) for individuals with additional learning needs. The development features a sports hall, dance studio, and multi-use games area designed to serve as a community hub for local sport and culture.

Law firm Hugh James provided legal support throughout the development process, advising on site assembly, land acquisitions, and infrastructure agreements required to bring essential services to the school.
