Cardiff drug dealer sentenced for hiding crack and heroin in bacon roll

Craig Jones, a 41‑year‑old man from Cardiff, was sentenced to three years in prison after South Wales Police intercepted a drug deal during a proactive patrol in Callaghan Square, Butetown. Officers detained Jones, who attempted to conceal a wrap of crack cocaine and heroin in his trousers before discarding it. A subsequent search of his residence uncovered 36 additional wraps hidden inside a plastic container placed in a bacon roll.

Investigators also found messages on Jones's mobile phone that linked him to drug supply. Police Inspector Gareth Handy said the case demonstrated the effectiveness of neighbourhood policing teams in disrupting illegal drug activity and protecting the community.
