Cardiff hospitality running challenge returns to raise charity funds

The Lab 22 Hospitality vs 10K Challenge is set to return this September, aiming to raise £10,000 for the local children’s charity Dreams & Wishes. Now in its third year, the initiative has grown significantly since its inception.

Started by Lab 22 owner Tani Hasa, the event encourages workers from Cardiff’s bars, restaurants, and hotels to participate in the CDF 10K. This year, approximately 130 participants from over 30 local hospitality businesses are signed up to run.

Organizers highlight that the challenge serves as a tool for mental health and community building. By providing an alternative to the traditional social culture of the hospitality sector, the event has helped participants form new friendships and develop regular running habits. Lab 22 funds race entries and provides runners with personalized T-shirts and lanyards.
