Cardiff hotels sell out ahead of potential Joshua-Fury fight

Negotiations continue for a heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, with Cardiff emerging as a likely host. Hotels in the Welsh capital, including those near the Principality Stadium, have reportedly sold out for mid-December as fans book accommodation in anticipation of a potential December 12 date.

Matchroom executive Frank Smith noted that the window to organize the bout for 2026 is narrowing. While Eddie Hearn has confirmed that contracts have been signed, a final venue and date have not been officially announced. Hearn has maintained a commitment to a UK venue despite receiving significantly higher offers to host the fight in the United States.

Frank Smith also addressed recent criticisms from Dana White regarding the fight's delay, dismissing claims of sabotage and suggesting White's involvement is driven by personal interest rather than business necessity. Smith stated that Matchroom and Joshua's team have fulfilled their contractual obligations regarding a UK date.
