Cardigan Bay Regatta marks 150th anniversary in New Quay

The Cardigan Bay Regatta, one of the United Kingdom’s oldest sailing traditions, will celebrate its 150th edition in New Quay, Wales. The three‑day event runs from 18 to 20 August 2026 and will feature dinghy and cruiser races on Cardigan Bay, alongside a programme of inshore sports and family‑friendly activities.

Visitors can take part in swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, treasure hunts, crab‑catching, barrel‑filling challenges, sandcastle‑building and a model‑boat competition. The regatta is organised entirely by volunteers and supported by local sponsors and businesses. Sue Rees, vice‑chair of the Cardigan Bay Regatta Committee, said: "Reaching our 150th regatta is a truly significant achievement and a proud moment for everyone connected with the event."
