Cardinal Battaglia and Prosecutor Gratteri receive Cassiodoro Prize

Cardinal Mimmo Battaglia, Archbishop of Naples, and Prosecutor Nicola Gratteri have been awarded the 2026 Cassiodoro il Grande International Prize. The ceremony took place in Naples during the Cassiodoro Day event.

The award, organized by the Cassiodoro il Grande Association in collaboration with the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy, honors individuals who excel in fields similar to the 6th-century monk Cassiodorus, including politics, literature, and diplomacy. Other honorees at the event included Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Mario Marazziti, and actress Lina Sastri. Additionally, merit plaques were awarded to the family of Salvo D’Acquisto and the Community of Sant’Egidio.
