Cardinal Giorgio Marengo discusses missionary work in Mongolia
Cardinal Giorgio Marengo, the 52-year-old Apostolic Prefect in Mongolia, has been living in the country since 2003. He oversees a Catholic community of 1,716 believers, supported by missionaries representing 29 different nationalities.
During a recent appearance in Vicenza, Marengo discussed his approach to missionary work, which he describes as “whispering the Gospel.” He defines this method as sharing faith through deep, lasting relationships built on trust, friendship, and time. He emphasizes that missionary work requires humility, listening, and a focus on the essential rather than the superfluous.
