Cardiovascular prevention events held in Cecina and Macerata
Community health initiatives focused on cardiovascular prevention were recently held in Cecina and Macerata, Italy.
In Cecina, the fourth edition of ‘Prevenzione cardiovascolare in piazza’, organized by the Associazione Amici del Cuore, provided free medical screenings to approximately 120 people. The event included electrocardiograms (ECG) and blood pressure monitoring, with results reviewed by cardiologists. Local volunteer organizations, including the Italian Red Cross and Pubblica Assistenza, provided medical personnel and ambulances to support the initiative.
In Macerata, the Parrocchia Santa Madre di Dio hosted a similar health day promoted by Don Carlos Munoz Caceres. Supported by the Order of Nursing Professions of Macerata, the event offered free ECGs, blood pressure checks, heart rate monitoring, and oxygen saturation tests to nearly 100 participants. Dr. Francesco Pellone, director of the Interventional Cardiology and Hemodynamics unit at Macerata Hospital, led the medical efforts alongside nursing staff.
