CARE and Vorarlberg launch agribusiness project for women in Kosovo
The AKWA project, ‘Advancing Kosovo Women’s Agribusiness Inclusion’, aims to strengthen the economic, social, and political involvement of women and youth in the agricultural sectors of Podujeva and Obiliq. Funded by the Austrian state of Vorarlberg and implemented by CARE Austria, the initiative addresses the low employment rates and underrepresentation of women in Kosovo’s rural economy.
Participants receive practical training in modern cultivation methods, business management fundamentals, and digital marketing. Additionally, selected entrepreneurs are provided with grants for equipment and branding to help establish independent livelihoods.
