Care homes in Australia and UK commemorate VE Day

Fremantle Court Care Home marked Victory in Europe Day with an emotional ceremony that honoured three residents who served in the Second World War, allowing them to reflect on their extraordinary experiences.

Overslade House Care Home in Rugby, Warwickshire, marked the 81st anniversary of VE Day by hosting a 1940s‑themed afternoon tea. The home was decorated in red, white and blue, and residents enjoyed period music performed by Peter Giles, who arrived in uniform, prompting many memories among the attendees.
