Careers Wales guidance helps students secure specialized training paths

Students in Wales have successfully transitioned from school to specialized career paths following guidance from Careers Wales advisers.

Maggie McInnes, a learner from Crickhowell, has accepted a place at Nottingham Trent University to study a specialist knitting degree. After initially feeling uncertain about her post-GCSE options, McInnes utilized support from a careers adviser to explore interests sparked by a hobby. She previously attended Hereford College of Arts to develop her skills.

In Haverfordwest, Matilda Phillips has secured a Level 2 apprenticeship in Horse Care Management. After receiving guidance to choose between interests in beauty and equine care, Phillips opted for a practical apprenticeship pathway to gain qualifications while working within a family business.
