Caregiving technology and culture initiatives announced in Japan

Inoac Corporation will showcase new products from its ‘Color Foam’ Care Series at the 53rd International Home Care & Rehabilitation Exhibition (H.C.R. 2026) at Tokyo Big Sight from October 7–9. Featured items include the ‘Facet Care Mattress’ series and the ‘More Sapo Pad,’ a urethane foam pad designed to improve pressure distribution when placed under a mattress. The company will also present the ‘Whiz Pad,’ a mattress with remote monitoring capabilities for detecting movement and bed exits.

In a separate initiative focused on the cultural and professional aspects of caregiving, Magazine House will host ‘Caring November 2026’ in Shimokitazawa. Supported by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the event includes the ‘Hello, Care Work! Exhibition’ to highlight the appeal of nursing professions. Other activities include VR dementia simulations to foster empathy, panel discussions with caregivers and authors, and themed book markets to promote a deeper understanding of caregiving in daily life.
