Carfax report finds high rates of unfixed recalls in taxi and rideshare vehicles

A Carfax analysis of more than 437,000 vehicles across 16 major U.S. cities reveals that approximately 26.67% of taxi and rideshare vehicles have at least one unfixed recall.

In certain markets, the prevalence of unfixed recalls is significantly higher. For instance, 38.7% of taxis in New York City and 37.5% of taxis in Seattle were found to have outstanding recalls. Carfax officials noted that while these figures are concerning for passenger safety, consumers can check for open recalls for free via their website to ensure safer rides.
