Cargo truck accidents reported on Mexican highways

Two separate incidents involving heavy cargo vehicles occurred on federal highways in Mexico.

In Yucatán, a trailer carrying ten tons of compressed cardboard nearly overturned on the Mérida-Valladolid highway. The incident took place at kilometer 26 between San Bernardino and Seyé when the driver attempted a U-turn and the rear wheels left the pavement. The weight of the load caused the trailer to tilt precariously, but it did not fully flip. No injuries were reported, and traffic resumed after a large crane cleared the vehicle.

In Veracruz, a Kenworth cargo truck overturned on the Córdoba-Boca del Río highway near the town of Palmillas in the Yanga municipality. The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to slide off the asphalt and land on its right side in a dirt embankment. Emergency responders, including the National Guard and local paramedics, treated the driver for injuries at the scene. The recovery efforts caused traffic disruptions for over 90 minutes.
