CargoBeamer appoints Markus Fischer as CEO
Leipzig-based intermodal logistics provider CargoBeamer has announced a restructuring of its leadership team to support European growth. Effective August 1, 2026, Markus Fischer, who has served as the company’s CFO since 2016, will become the new Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Nicolas Albrecht, who transitions from the CEO role to become the Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
The company is reducing its Executive Board from five members to three. Tilman Apitzsch has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer, replacing Boris Timm, and Julian Hagenschulte has taken on the role of Chief Digital & Technology Officer. Co-founder Hans-Jürgen Weidemann will step down from the Executive Board but remain with the company in a management capacity.
This leadership change follows a period of significant growth for the company. CargoBeamer reported a more than 30 percent increase in transported trailers in June compared to the previous year, and achieved double-digit volume growth throughout 2025. The company currently operates across six European countries and is expanding its infrastructure, with new terminals planned for Kaldenkirchen and Domodossola in 2027.
