Caribbean Airlines completes audits for 2017–2019 to clear backlog

Caribbean Airlines has completed its audited financial statements for 2017, 2018, and 2019 as part of an effort to clear a nine-year audit backlog. During its 9th Annual General Meeting in Piarco, Trinidad, the state-owned carrier announced that it aims to complete the 2020 audited statements by the end of October 2026, with audits for the years 2021 through 2025 also scheduled for completion.

Chairman Reyna Kowlessar stated that updating these statements is essential for rebuilding and positioning the company for long-term success. The airline is implementing several measures to improve viability and operational performance amidst rising fuel prices and a challenging global aviation environment. These include a route rationalisation programme and a fleet optimisation strategy involving the sale of two ATR aircraft, one of which has already been delivered.

These initiatives are supported by policy reforms and increased financial compliance intended to strengthen organizational discipline and resource management.
