Caribbean Carnivals Attract Thousands in Antigua and Jamaica

Prime Minister Gaston Browne welcomed thousands of revellers to Antigua Carnival 2026, urging celebration of the nation’s culture, heritage and community spirit. He highlighted the festival as a showcase of Antigua and Barbuda’s identity and invited diaspora, regional guests and international travellers to enjoy local music, food and hospitality.

On Jamaica’s south coast, the Bigga Little Ochie Seafood Carnival drew a record crowd to Alligator Pond, Manchester. The event featured performances by dancehall star Busy Signal, vocalist Shaneil Muir and reggae legend Queen Ifrica, combining live music with fresh seafood, family activities and tourism promotion. Organisers praised the high energy and increased attendance, noting participation from across Jamaica and overseas.
