Caribbean region advances educational and scientific innovation initiatives

In the Colombian Caribbean, initiatives are advancing to strengthen education and scientific integration. Drummond Ltd. participated in the II Annual Meeting of Rectors and Caribbean Hackathon in Barranquilla. Alongside academic leaders and United Way Colombia, the company worked with school principals from the Cesar and Magdalena departments to promote innovation, leadership, and the use of data in educational decision-making.

Simultaneously, the Governor of Atlántico, Eduardo Verano, presented a proposal to establish a Regional Council for Science, Technology, and Innovation (Codecti). This council aims to integrate the eight departments of the Caribbean region to address shared challenges such as coastal erosion, climate resilience, energy transition, and food security through coordinated scientific research and technological capabilities.
