Caribbean travel trends show rising interest in Saint Lucia

Travel trends in the Caribbean are showing a shift in interest toward Saint Lucia, which has seen a 125% increase in flight searches over the past year. According to Expedia’s Island Hot List 2026, Saint Lucia leads as a rapidly growing island destination, outpacing other emerging locations. This surge in interest suggests travelers are seeking different Caribbean experiences, such as volcanic landscapes and the Pitons, as alternatives to more traditional destinations.

Meanwhile, Martinique remains a notable destination known for its scenic driving routes. Key routes include the Route de la Trace, which traverses tropical forests and passes near Mount Pelée; the Route des Anses, a coastal path connecting Sainte-Luce to Sainte-Anne; and the Route de la Caravelle, which features coastal cliffs and mangroves between Tartane and La Trinité.
