Cariboo Regional District issues water notice and library closure
The Cariboo Regional District has issued a boil water notice for the Horse Lake Water System as a precautionary measure following recent water testing results. Residents are advised to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing dishes, or watering animals. The advisory will remain in effect until officially rescinded.
Separately, the Cariboo Regional District Library in Williams Lake will undergo a two-month renovation starting August 30, 2026. The project, funded by a British Columbia Library Enhancement Grant, aims to modernize the facility with new flooring, furniture, and layout adjustments. During the closure, staff will offer limited services via pop-up libraries outside the building on select Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from September through mid-October. Digital resources will remain accessible throughout the renovation period.
