Carine disputes reports on UNESCO stance regarding Baošići project
The company Carine has issued a statement refuting media reports regarding its development project in Baošići. The company claims that the final decision from the UNESCO World Heritage Committee concerning the Natural and Cultural-Historical Area of Kotor does not mention the Baošići project, nor does it label it as controversial.
Carine asserts that the Committee's official document (WHC/26/48. COM/16) specifically identifies three other development projects—Jugooceanija, the former Fjord hotel location, and the Orahovac hotel—but makes no mention of the Baošići site or the company itself. The company further stated that there are no requests, recommendations, or notes in the UNESCO decision regarding the suspension of works, the removal of structures, or the restoration of the beach to its previous state.
According to the company, much of the recent media coverage was based on a draft report that included claims from the Administration for the Protection of Cultural Property rather than official UNESCO findings. Carine maintains that it has submitted all relevant documentation, including valid construction permits and inspection records, to the World Heritage Centre.
