Carinthia allocates millions in municipal climate and energy subsidies
The state of Carinthia is seeing high demand for its municipal subsidy programs aimed at climate adaptation and energy efficiency.
Regarding heat protection, approximately 3.1 million euros of a 4 million euro fund has already been allocated. As of late August, 171 measures have been submitted by 62 different municipalities to improve conditions in kindergartens, daycare centers, and schools. Supported projects include shading, greenery, water fountains, and cooling systems, with the state covering up to 80 percent of costs. Approximately 900,000 euros remain available.
Additionally, the Municipal Energy Efficiency Bonus is providing momentum for the energy and mobility transition. To date, 400,000 euros have been made available across Carinthia. In the districts of St. Veit and Feldkirchen, 50,000 euros in state funds have supported projects totaling 190,000 euros in investment. These initiatives range from purchasing modern electrical appliances and sustainable mobility projects to LED lighting upgrades in public buildings.
