Carinthia launches AI influencer “Mia” to promote tourism

An AI‑generated persona called Mia Madlum has been introduced to showcase the Austrian state of Carinthia. The virtual influencer posts recommendations for local attractions, cafés and events, with six posts covering places such as the Petzen mountain, a café on Klagenfurt’s Old Square, the lakeside promenade in Pörtschach, a Gigi D’Agostino concert in Moosburg, the City Arkaden, and the Gerlitzen ski area. As of the first report the account had 20 followers.

The creators behind Mia remain unidentified, and a request for comment received no response. Public reaction is mixed, with some praising the novel way to highlight the region’s scenery while others criticize the lack of genuine human experience.
