Carinthia to invest 112 million euros in municipalities

The state of Carinthia has announced an investment of approximately 112 million euros into its municipalities through 2028. This funding will be distributed via a needs-based allocation model (BZ-Modell) to support essential services and future development.

Key priorities for these funds include municipal partnerships, the expansion of communal roads, heat protection measures, and the promotion of new building culture. For 2027, the existing framework will be updated with approximately 81 million euros available. Starting in 2028, the distribution model will be further developed to better reflect the actual responsibilities of municipalities, such as childcare and elementary education.
