Carinthian Tenant Bill Audit Yields Hundreds of Refunds

The Carinthia state government and the Arbeiterkammer (Workers' Chamber) continued their joint "Wir blicken durch!" programme, offering free checks of tenants' and owners' operating‑cost statements. In the 2025 round, 813 residential complexes were examined, more than 3,100 renters and owners received advice and 82 cases required in‑depth intervention by AK experts. Roughly two‑thirds of the reviewed bills needed correction, leading to substantial refunds – for example, a tenant expected to pay €450 was instead credited €530 after an illegal cost was removed, and a complex in Klagenfurt received over €18,000 in total credits. The current checking campaign runs from 1 June to 31 July 2026, with applications accepted via the AK’s website.
