Cariño Launches 48th Galician Theatre Festival with Opening Day Performances

The 48th Mostra de Teatro Galego opened in Cariño on 2 August 2026. An opening ceremony was held outside the Casa do Concello, after which the company Catropés presented its itinerant show “Animacreques”. The programme continued in Praza da Pulida with the performance “Historias para escagharriñarse” by Teatro Ghazafelhos, followed later that evening by “Tríade e Alleo” from Colectivo Glovo. The festival will run daily until 8 August, offering two shows per day and featuring a range of Galician theatre companies for audiences of all ages.
