Caritas and missionary training events held in Italy

Various religious and charitable training events have taken place across Italy. In Termoli, the Diocese of Termoli-Larino scheduled a formation meeting for October 30 at the Maria Santissima del Monte Carmelo Parish. The event, featuring Sister Paola Arosio, focuses on the message of Pope Leo XIV for the X World Day of the Poor, titled “The Lord is the refuge of the poor.” Sister Arosio, who coordinates a multi-structure center for the Jesuit Refugee Service in Rome, will discuss pastoral and social implications of the Pope's message regarding vulnerable populations and migrants.

In Sannazzaro, a diocesan missionary vigil was held on October 17. During the ceremony, Bishop Maurizio Gervasoni provided mandates to local catechists and Caritas operators. The event included a procession and testimonies, such as that from Elena, daughter of the venerable Nerino Cobianchi. The vigil featured symbolic offerings from mission lands, including items from Angola, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Madagascar, and Uganda, to emphasize the global nature of the mission and the need for fraternity and peace.
