Caritas autumn collection begins in Munich and Freising
The Caritas autumn collection for 2026 is scheduled to begin in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising on Sunday, September 27, 2026, starting with church services and collections. In the city and district of Rosenheim, volunteers will conduct door-to-door fundraising from Monday, September 28, through Sunday, October 4.
In areas where personal collectors are unavailable, donation letters will be distributed via mailboxes. Collected funds, minus minor administrative costs, will be utilized locally within the city and district. Specifically, 40% of the funds will be used directly by the parish, while 60% will be managed by local Caritas centers in Rosenheim, Bad Aibling, Wasserburg, and Prien.
Caritas district manager Wolfgang Ehrenlechner noted that volunteers play a vital role by being close to community members and identifying local needs. The donations are intended to support essential regional services, including counseling and support for caregivers and social psychiatric services.
