Caritas continues flood relief efforts in Poland two years later

Two years after the devastating floods in Lower Silesia, Caritas continues to provide long-term assistance to affected communities. While immediate crisis management has concluded, many residents still face unfinished home renovations, lack of household equipment, and high costs for drying out apartments.

Caritas has utilized funds for heating, electricity, and gas bills, specifically supporting 443 households, primarily consisting of elderly and ill individuals. The organization is also addressing the impact on education, providing scholarships to children to prevent social exclusion and funding equipment for schools that have rebuilt facilities like gymnasiums and toilets.

Additionally, the organization has organized respite stays for 627 children to help them recover from the trauma of the disaster.
