Caritas Sandomierz distributes school supplies to children in Poland and Ukraine

Caritas of the Sandomierz Diocese, in collaboration with 15 parishes, has completed its “Tornister pełen uśmiechów” (Backpack Full of Smiles) initiative to provide school supplies to children in need.

A total of 464 backpacks filled with essential items such as notebooks, pencil cases, crayons, paints, and drawing blocks were prepared. These supplies are destined for children within the Sandomierz Diocese as well as for 100 children in Ukraine, specifically from the areas of Zhovkva and Strelchytsky.

The distribution ceremony took place at the Catholic Home in Sandomierz, attended by Bishop Krzysztof Nitkiewicz and Bogusław Pitucha, the director of Caritas Sandomierz. The initiative is part of a nationwide Caritas program that has been operating since 2009 to ensure students can begin the school year with the necessary tools for learning.
