Carl Zeiss Jena faces goalkeeper dilemma after injury

Carl Zeiss Jena is facing a goalkeeper dilemma following an elbow fracture suffered by starting keeper Marius Liesegang. Coach Marco Grote has confirmed the club is searching for a new goalkeeper, but the team is hesitant to make a signing due to potential roster conflicts.

Currently, the squad relies on young players Till Härting and Luca Mengel. While Härting has performed well in recent matches, the club faces a strategic choice: signing a new primary goalkeeper could create conflict when Liesegang returns from injury, whereas signing a backup may offer limited value unless further injuries occur. The club has also decided against offering a new contract to homegrown talent Alexios Dedidis at this time.
