Carla Cativa re-elected as MPLA provincial first secretary in Cuando Cubango

Carla Maria Domingas Cativa has been re-elected as the MPLA provincial first secretary for Cuando Cubango with 100% of the votes. The decision was made during the 1st Ordinary Provincial Conference held in Mavinga, which brought together 481 delegates representing the province's nine municipalities.

During her inaugural address for the 2026-2031 mandate, Cativa outlined several strategic priorities, including the strengthening of grassroots party structures, fostering internal unity and cohesion, and increasing party mobilization. These efforts are intended to prepare local forces for the 2027 General Elections.

Cativa expressed her unconditional support for MPLA President João Lourenço, calling on militants and supporters in the province to unite behind his leadership. The conference, which saw significant female participation with 292 women delegates, serves as part of the organic preparatory process for the MPLA's 9th Ordinary Congress.
