Carla Zambelli prays for Bolsonaro and Jan‑8 prisoners at Rome cult

Brazilian ex‑deputy Carla Zambelli (PL) attended a religious gathering organized by the evangelical group “Patriotas em Roma” in Rome. During the event she delivered an emotional speech, praying for former president Jair Bolsonaro and for those convicted of the January 8, 2023 attacks, and thanking senators Flávio Bolsonaro, Eduardo Girão, Magno Malta and Damares Alves for traveling to Italy to support her.

Zambelli said, “Hoje, graças a Deus, não tenho raiva no meu coração… que Deus possa fazer milagres na vida de cada um dos presos de 8 de janeiro e na vida do nosso presidente Bolsonaro.” The gathering was publicized on social media by the group and by Zambelli’s mother, Rita Zambelli.

The ex‑deputy has been living in Italy since May after the Italian Court of Cassation overturned a decision that had authorized her extradition to Brazil. She remains subject to a ten‑year prison sentence in Brazil for hacking the National Council of Justice and other charges. Brazilian authorities say she would be transferred to the Federal District women’s prison, known as “Colmeia,” if extradited.
