Carles Puigdemont has ruled out serving as the leader of the opposition in the Catalan Parliament, noting that the political reality in Catalonia has changed significantly since his departure.

Regarding the legal implementation of the amnesty law, Supreme Court judge Pablo Llarena has lifted arrest warrants for Puigdemont, Toni Comín, and Lluís Puig. However, Llarena clarified that this action does not conclude the ongoing investigation or resolve the legal responsibility of the individuals involved. While the judge views the eventual amnesty of Puigdemont as inevitable, he has not yet moved to archive the case.

Other political leaders, including Oriol Junqueras, Jordi Turull, Dolors Bassa, and Raül Romeva, are expected to receive amnesty following rulings on embezzlement charges. Meanwhile, legal teams for other officials, such as Josep Maria Jové and Lluís Salvadó, are seeking similar outcomes through the courts. Lawyer Gonzalo Boye indicated that Puigdemont is unlikely to return to Catalonia during the upcoming electoral campaign.
