Carling Knockout Cup 2026 officially launches

The 2026 Carling Knockout Cup has officially launched, marking the fourth edition of the tournament sponsored by Carling Black Label in partnership with the Premier Soccer League (PSL). The tournament's Last 16 draw was scheduled for October 14, 2026, with coverage provided by SuperSport and SABC 2.

This edition introduces the ‘Champion Coach Experience,’ a new initiative allowing fans to test their football knowledge. By using unique codes from promotional packs, fans can predict starting lineups to earn prizes and climb a leaderboard for a chance to participate in the experience during the final. Additionally, fans can vote for a ‘Champion of the Match’ during games.

The previous edition saw Orlando Pirates secure the title after a victory over Marumo Gallants, ending a 14-year wait for a League Cup trophy. The upcoming tournament follows a season of notable upsets, including Marumo Gallants defeating Mamelodi Sundowns and Stellenbosch FC knocking out Kaizer Chiefs.
