Carlo Acutis chapel construction advances in Mendoza

In Mendoza, Argentina, construction is underway for a chapel dedicated to San Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint. Located in Chacras de Coria, the project has reached 24% completion following a period of stagnation due to a lack of funds. Organizers are currently seeking monthly donors to ensure the continued progress of the site, which aims to serve as a space for faith and community engagement.

In a related development, Portuguese priest and DJ Guilherme Peixoto visited the Almafuerte II prison complex in Mendoza. This marked his first visit to a correctional facility outside of Portugal. During the visit, Peixoto inaugurated an interreligious chapel named after Carlo Acutis, which was constructed by inmates at the facility. The event included meetings with approximately 120 young adults and 30 women housed at the establishment, focusing on themes of personal transformation and spiritual reflection.
