Carlo Ancelotti declines Italy coaching role to stay with Brazil

Football manager Carlo Ancelotti has clarified that he declined an offer to lead the Italian national team, opting instead to remain as the head coach of Brazil. Speaking to ESPN, Ancelotti stated his decision was not based on financial reasons but on his commitment to the Brazilian Football Federation and the warm welcome he has received in the country.

Ancelotti's tenure with the Brazil national team is set to continue through July 2030. Following a disappointing World Cup exit against Norway, he expressed a desire to rebuild the squad, noting the high level of talent available in Brazil. His decision concludes speculation regarding his potential appointment as Italy's manager, a role that has since been filled by Roberto Mancini.

Ancelotti, who has managed major clubs including Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich, married businesswoman Mariann Barrena McClay in 2014.
