Brazil coach Ancelotti names 26-man squad for upcoming international friendlies

Brazil national football team coach Carlo Ancelotti has announced a 26-man squad for a series of international friendlies, marking the beginning of the team's preparation cycle for the 2030 World Cup.

The squad features a mix of established stars and emerging talent. Key veterans include Vinícius Júnior, Raphinha, Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhães, and Bruno Guimarães. The call-up also emphasizes youth and domestic talent, with several players from the Brazilian league included, such as Hugo Souza, Breno Bidon, and Samuel Lino.

Ancelotti noted that while the list is balanced, his focus is on developing younger players to ensure long-term progression. He stated, “I prefer to focus my work on the young ones and follow their progression.” The coach also clarified that the door remains open for all players, despite the emphasis on new faces.

The scheduled matches include two games against Australia in Townsville and Brisbane on September 25 and 29, followed by a historic first-ever match against India at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on October 3.
