Carlo Ancelotti tours Europe to scout players for Brazil
Brazil national football team head coach Carlo Ancelotti has begun a scouting tour across Europe to evaluate players for upcoming international friendlies. The tour aims to finalize selections for matches against Australia on September 25 and October 4, and India on October 3.
Ancelotti's itinerary included attending the Lille vs. Paris Saint-Germain match in France to observe defenders Alexsandro Ribeiro, Marquinhos, and Beraldo. During this match, he also accompanied his son, Davide Ancelotti, who made his debut as Lille's coach. In England, Ancelotti watched the Tottenham vs. Newcastle fixture to monitor Richarlison and Savinho, and scheduled time to observe Chelsea players João Pedro and Estêvão, as well as Brighton's Igor Julio.
The scouting comes as Brazil enters a new phase following their 2-1 elimination by Norway in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup. Ancelotti is expected to submit a preliminary list of 50 potential candidates to FIFA shortly, with a final 23-man squad to be announced by September 11.
