Carlo Goldoni plays scheduled for performances in Chioggia and Borgio Verezzi

Various theatrical productions featuring the works of Carlo Goldoni are scheduled across Italy.

In Chioggia, the Piccolo Teatro Città di Chioggia will present “Le Baruffe Chiozzotte,” directed by Pierluca Donin. The performance is set for September 5, 2026, at the courtyard of the former Santa Caterina Monastery as part of the “Cronache d’Acqua Dolce e Salata” festival. The play explores 18th-century Chioggia through themes of love, jealousy, and local gossip.

In Borgio Verezzi, the 60th Borgio Verezzi Theater Festival will feature “La cameriera brillante” on August 10 and 11. Directed by Ferdinando Ceriani, this 1753 comedy follows the character Argentina as she navigates the romantic entanglements of the daughters of a Venetian merchant. The production aims to highlight Goldoni’s lesser-known but significant works.
